“Over the past 4 years, I’ve dedicated time to focus on my personal growth in every aspect of my life, and I am DAMN proud of me and my progress. I have always admired your art and I was just like, fuck yes lets do this!” Ms. B
The more I work with incredible women, the more I see that this is experience is more than just a shoot.
Ever since Covid, Ms. B has been working on herself. On focusing her energy on self-care, and not looking for outside validation. After our session, Ms. B talked about embracing self-love, and the appreciation of the journey that is life. Her respect for her body has deepened over time, and this photoshoot, in Ms. B’s words was:
Having the session was part of finally not giving a f**k about what anyone had to say. Once she had her final photographs, she shared them everywhere, not missing a beat..“the old me would have never shown these”.
Don’t worry babe, the old you made you the new you. Love on her.
I loved this session so much… it was all laughs and truth bombs all over the place. The biggest one came from this queen:
And underestimate the value of self-care like this. It’s essential that we prioritize ourselves without seeking validation from anyone else.”
I don’t know any truer words.
It was an absolute joy to photograph this ball of sunshine..
Till next time Ms. B

Hey, I’m Aniya (Ah-Knee-Ya). Photographing women and giving them the space and freedom to be who they are is what I live for. I love connecting with people and hearing their stories – everybody has one.
I’m based in Barbados, and available for commissions worldwide.

Tattoos are my timeline. I play tennis, read vehemently, and travel the world. Sensual, empathetic, ex-criminologist, pretty good Italian speaker. Slightly irreverent. Terrified of white lizards and frogs. Kids and elders are my storytellers.
Dancing is joy; justice is non-negotiable.
