“I am guilty of nip-picking things about myself and my body that I believe could be better but at the end of the day our bodies do so much for us and we really should be appreciative at every stage.”
I had always followed her yoga page, because in my mind, I am a Yogi through and through. (just need to work on actually doing a class!) so when her name popped up for our first ever Giveaway, I squealed! We had never met in person, but I knew our energies would match so perfectly, and maaann, was I right.
From our first set, Ms. J taught me something – embrace yourself in every way.
She immediately opened up to the process, and didn’t hold back in any way.
She put her heart and her body into every moment of our time together. I asked her to do some yoga poses, and I saw her eyes close, and her sometimes pretzel into position – she awed me. When she did this, it was as though there was a blanket of calm that feel on top of me as I photographed her.
But like I say, our energy will go up and it will come back down… and suddenly, I found myself photographing and signing with Ms. J as she was rapping Lil Wayne’s “Lolipop”. It was epic.
Realize, when you come to be photographed, this is a space that allows you to be free, to be unashamedly you, because that’s who I want to photograph, and that beautiful soul is who I want you to see looking back at you, because..
Ms. J, thank you for entering my little Giveaway (a few times!), thank you for opening up with me, and sharing yourself, your emotions, your story and your life with me. Thank you for not hiding your tears when you saw YOU in these photographs.

All my Love & Gratitude,
