There are not enough good words to describe Amelia and John. I met them one afternoon in the cool breeze ofsummer on the southeast coast at Harrismith Bay. If you haven’t been, you need to go. It’s a big beautiful field with the most stunning abandoned home, right overlooking the cliff. I was 8 months pregnant during their engagement shoot, and they were more concerned about me than anything else. They were constantly asking how I was doing, that it was ok to stop the session at any time, and I have to say, it was like a reversal of roles. The clients were taking care of the photographer.

We spent the afternoon photographing their story and getting to know each other, and it was truly one of the most beautiful afternoons.

Their wedding, meant for 2021, had to be postponed because of the C-word. (May the world be rid of COVID ASAP!), so we waited 365 days for this day to come.

And when their wedding day came, IT. CAME.

This wedding was pure JOY. From the minute I arrived at the absolutely gorgeous location, Halton Great House (it’s no secret it’s my favorite venue!), it was as though everyone was part of a happiness bubble. We were on this fantastic wave of energy, all together, not one person left out. There were tears, there were memories shared of those who were watching from above, laughter, so many smiles all day long, and the love. Pure, unfiltered love.

You see, Amelia and John, two of the kindest people, took their day, and chose to celebrate others as well. It was Amelia’s mom’s 60th birthday, and Amelia surprised her with a gorgeous birthday cake – it was sublime.

And more.. Amelia and John helped plan a proposal – yes folks, at their wedding reception. How. Freaking. Cool. Is.. That?

But this is them. They knew this day was about a celebration about LOVE. Not only their wedding, but love for everyone who loved them.

I can’t describe this day as anything else other than electric.

I am SO happy I was a part of this day Amelia and John, thank you SO SO much for having me be a part of it. I know this is just the beginning.

All the love in the world…

Aniya, xo
