One Month in Italy, and some Boudoir Sessions

This year we spent the month of October in my husband’s hometown of Torreglia, in Italy. We actually go every year, but this time was different.

I photographed Boudoir Sessions.

This was a first for me, and I won’t lie, it was a bit scary. It was my first time trying to locate a studio, photographing in a different language (boyyyyyy was this eyeopening!), and so much more.

But I learned a hell of a lot:

  1. There are plenty of wonderful studios in the Veneto area but Loft Studio Vicenza was perfect for me.

  2. Italy has always had the best light ever. Confirmed!

  3. Connecting with people to photograph isn’t as hard as I thought – you just have to connect. It’s as simple as that.

  4. To stop feeling silly if because I wasn’t fluent in Italian. Trying was commendable!

Martina (photographed) and I had such a beautiful time together. While I am learning italian, I realized that there were a ton of poses and body movements I had no clue how to say. Luckily, we laughed and just helped each other out. Cher was our love language – it’s incredible how music transcends language barriers.

It can be scary to do something like this in a foreign country, but as they say:

Do something that scares you.

Aniya, xo

About ANIYA

Tattoos are my timeline. I play tennis, read vehemently, and travel the world. Sensual, empathetic, ex-criminologist, pretty good Italian speaker. Slightly irreverent. Terrified of white lizards and frogs. Kids and elders are my storytellers.
Dancing is joy; justice is non-negotiable.
