When Jack reached out to me to photograph their wedding there was something in his email that made me want to immediately connect with him and Michelle.  Maybe it was a little laugh I heard through his words or the very evident love he had for his fiancé but something drew me in.

When I met Jack and Michelle on zoom it was obvious why I felt connected to them. They had an energy and a spirit that was so loving that was so jovial that I knew I had to photograph this wedding.

The beautiful thing about Jack and Michelle was how they decided to get married. We are now coming out of two years of “solitary confinement”. We have been kept apart from those that we love the most, we have had to isolate and we still do to a certain extent. The world is opening up, and finally, we can get married again, we can gather with our friends and family again. But Jack and Michelle wanted to stay in their own space for a little bit longer. They decided to do is elope. There’s something so very special and unique about two people deciding to go against the norm, leave it all behind, and just get married by themselves.

I met Jack and Michelle in their hotel room at Sweetfield Manor where Jack was steaming Michelle‘s jumpsuit. Michelle was in the bathroom with the door opened putting her make-up on so beautifully, as she did, Jack was outside rearranging things for the day. It was the coolest, most calm, yet most loving environment I’ve been in a very long time.

At the beach where they said their vows, Jack reached over to Michelle to wipe the tears falling on her face.

This is Love.

Your wedding can be two people or 200. It doesn’t matter. I’m documenting it in the most authentic way..

I loved this wedding so much, I love the freedom they gave each other.

Aniya, xo
