Ms. J, Celebrating her Birthday with Boudoir

Women come for a boudoir session because they want to celebrate themselves, often times, a milestone brings this about. Perhaps it’s a birthday, or some occasion that has made many women think:

Now’s the time.

Whatever has brought you my way, I’m grateful to you, and for Ms. J, it was her upcoming 40th birthday that led her to me. I’m going to let her tell you in her own words, her why. It’s pretty powerful.

“This [boudoir experience] is a continuation my personal journey… We exist in a society where there are many expectations and restrictions; some implied, explicit and self-imposed.

There can be so much noise and distractions pulling you in all directions. Dreams forgotten. It was exhausting and I wished to redefine who I am as a woman and explore my true essence. I always wanted to “model”, be professionally photographed. I made a conscious decision that every year I will participate in a photo-shoot. Now with intention, I get to live out one of my desires. This photo-shoot experience is part of my story – rediscovering who I am and allowing myself to be captured as images; moments frozen in time. It was me telling myself, “Have courage, be fully seen and do whatever your heart desires!” It was such a timely reminder that I needed as I approach my 40th birthday.” Ms. J.

You don’t need a milestone to celebrate yourself. This isn’t a bucket list item, it’s something you should do, over and over again. Because you, my friend, are the milestone.

All my Love & Gratitude,

Aniya, xo
