On December 31st, 2020 at 9 PM, the Prime Minister announced that Barbados would be going into a second full lockdown from January 1st, 2021. We were not allowed to leave our homes, and only essential services were to remain open.
And weddings were prohibited.
Zoe and Tyler’s January 2nd, 2021 wedding could not go on, and devastation is not a strong enough word to describe how they felt. Everything had been set. Flowers were already arranged, and friends and family could not attend a wedding that many had flown in for. My heart broke for them.
Two weeks later, I got a text from Zoe letting me know that she and Tyler didn’t want to wait. They may not have had the 2021 party they wanted, but they WANTED to be married. So on a little cliff, overlooking the beautiful east coast, Zoe and Tyler became husband and wife.
Fast forward to 2022, the pandemic is still a thing, but it was so important for Zoe and Tyler to have their celebration. They pushed through, having to postpone for the second time in October 2021, and in the spring of 2022, at Bentley Mansion, their friends and family gathered around to celebrate their love.
It was sublime.
Thank you for showing the world what tenacity is. For declaring your love in the face of a global pandemic, and for having me photograph it – not once, but twice.
It’s been an incredible journey.

Tattoos are my timeline. I play tennis, read vehemently, and travel the world. Sensual, empathetic, ex-criminologist, pretty good Italian speaker. Slightly irreverent. Terrified of white lizards and frogs. Kids and elders are my storytellers.
Dancing is joy; justice is non-negotiable.
