Over a year ago, I got an email from the sweetest person.

I always ask, what’s your superpower? I admit that mine is dancing – I’m an in the zone, eyes closed kinda dancer… and when I read her response, I was hooked: “Hey Aniya! We have something in common because mine [superpower] is dancing too!” I smiled BIG! But what I didn’t know, was how dang serious she was! (You’ll see below).

I’d seen Lorin in magazines, editorials, and so much more. Hey, I’m sure once you scroll down, you’ll recognize her too! She’s been photographed by so many, so I was completely floored when she came my way.

We chatted during her break (and side note: she’s a primary school teacher, and so if I thought she couldn’t get any cooler, there ye go! She’s got the best, most influential job on earth :-).

The story that unfolded on that video call was one of those that make you instantaneously believe in the power of the universe. Without knowing him, she knew she would marry him. And, ya’ll, he is one incredibly awesome guy, named Mitchell. He personifies integrity, protection, and just all round goodness in a person.

Mitch saw her at the all famous Harbor Lights, and we can kiiinnddd of say the rest is history. There was Covid in between, and periods of waiting… but they both knew this was something they could not let go of.

And they didn’t.

On August 26th, 2023, Lorin walked down the aisle of St. Francis Catholic Church, and Mitch’s best man, but his arm around him, and gave him his handkerchief. Mitch let the tears fall and Lorin smiled at him.

The laughed with each other during the ceremony, they held hands, and whispered to things to each other that made them even more connected than they were just minutes before.

Remember Lorin said her superpower was dancing as well?

Well, they didn’t disappoint! This was one hell of a party ya’ll. One of those “every-song-hits-better-than-the-one-before-and-you-get-sucked-back-on-the-dancefloor” kinda parties! I didn’t want to leave (I eventually did, I promise!) But they were like magents drawing me back in. Their love, their energy, their friends and family – it was as though there was something bigger than us happening, and we were all there for it.

Lorin and Mitch, to say it was a pleasure getting to know you, and documenting this day for you, and for generations to come, is an understatement. You both embody grace, generosity and love.
