Catching Magic: Sunset Engagement Sessions on
Barbados’ Wild East Coast

Hey there, lovebirds!

I’m absolutely BUZZING to share this gorgeous east coast sunset engagement session with you!

As your friendly neighborhood Barbados wedding photographer, I’ve captured countless couples against our island’s stunning backdrops, but there’s something truly special about the east coast at golden hour that makes my photographer heart skip a beat!

Why East Coast Sunsets Hit Different

Let’s be real – most folks flock to our famous west coast beaches for those classic Caribbean sunset shots with the sterile white sand and the blue water.

But here’s my little photographer secret: the east coast brings a totally different kind of vibe!

While the sun sets behind you (not into the water), it creates this incredible golden glow that bathes the dramatic cliffs, rugged shoreline, and crashing Atlantic waves in the most AMAZING light!

The best part? Way fewer tourists photobombing your romantic moments! We practically had the entire beach to ourselves for Rae-Anne and Futsums session at Bathsheba, with those iconic mushroom rock formations creating the perfect natural backdrop.

It is rustic, it’s intimate (yet expansive!) and it’s my absolute favorite place to photograph couples.

Rae-Anne & Futsum’s Love Story

When Rae-Anne and Futsum told me they wanted something “different” for their engagement photos, I knew exactly where to take them.

On the day of the session, I saw them walking down the Bathsheba Hill with two huge smiles on their faces.

It was like we were both long lost friends. Rae-Anne said:

“You do hugs, right?”

“Hells yes I do hugs! Come on in here!” I replied.

From the time I started photographing them, they let me in. Not only into their literal spaces (I get close!) but sharing their lives with me. They loved on each other, and didn’t flinch when I got in close.

But it’s what they wrote after that hit me hard:

“It’s so difficult to choose my favorites, when they all capture us as a couple, but also as people”.

If you’re looking for something different, and aren’t afraid to get close and love on each other for some beautifully emotive photographs, drop me a message here.

See you soon,

Aniya, xo
