St. Nicholas Abbey, Barbados Engagement Session

I’m SO excited to share the sweetest engagement session with you all! When Melissa and Ryan reached out about capturing some vacation memories during their Barbados getaway, I knew we were going to have a BLAST together!

These two cuties are basically the definition of #RelationshipGoals – constantly making each other laugh and just radiating that kind of authentic love that makes my job as a photographer such a freaking joy. 

Why St. Nicholas Abbey Won Their Hearts

When we were chatting about location options, Melissa and Ryan immediately fell in love with St. Nicholas Abbey’s incredible variety. And can you blame them?! This historic gem offers SO many different backdrops in one stunning package.

Those iconic red doors? OBSESSED! The moment Melissa saw photos of them, she was like “that’s it, that’s the spot!” 

But what really sealed the deal was the enchanting forest area. As Ryan put it, “We want something that feels like an adventure, not just posed photos.” HELLO, MY KIND OF COUPLE! The dappled light filtering through those ancient trees created the most magical setting for these two to just be themselves.

From Elegant to Playful in One Session

What makes St. Nicholas Abbey such a perfect engagement spot is how you can seamlessly transition from elegant, classic shots to completely playful ones without changing locations.

We started with some timeless poses by the gorgeous architecture and those statement red doors.

But then five minutes later, we were in the forest. That perfect mix of romantic and ridiculous is EXACTLY what engagement photos should capture!

When Vacation Photos Become Treasured Memories

What began as “let’s get some nice photos while we’re in Barbados” turned into a highlight of Melissa and Ryan’s vacation. As we wrapped up the session Ryan said, “This was way more fun than I expected!” (And yesss – guys always say that after my sessions! )

The best part? These photos now serve as both beautiful engagement memories AND the perfect vacation souvenir. Way better than a magnet or t-shirt, right?!
