THE BOUDOIR EXPERIENCE

Hey Gorgeous!
So you’ve landed here because you’re interested in celebrating the complete Badass you are by having a boudoir photoshoot. But what exactly does that mean, and how will this all go down? You are not the first to ask, and you won’t be the last. Don’t worry, read on! I cover everything from inquiry to final delivery of your products.

The Booking Process
In order to best serve my clients, I take a limited number of sessions per month, and highly recommend for clients to have their shoot approximately 6 weeks prior to needing their finished products. As soon you know you’d like to gift yourself this session, contact me. You’ll receive a comprehensive email with all of the details of the shoot, which will include Pricing and Packages, and Product information for you to peruse. I don’t require a consultation, but if you’d love to have a chat before booking, we can definitely arrange for a Zoom call.
Once you’re officially booked, I’ll send you some detailed information on how to prep for the Boudoir Session. Although the prep info covers pretty much everything you’d need to know to walk into the session like a pro, you may still have some questions, or simply want chat about your goals for the session, your why – I’m here for it! Email is always best, and communication is KEY! We want you to feel 100% comfortable for your shoot with us!

The Boudoir Photo Shoot Day
The night before, and for sure the morning of, you can expect that you may be a wee bit nervous about your boudoir experience, but I want to assure you that it’s expected, and it’s perfectly normal. Every person feels the same way, (check out the client raves, they were ALL nervous!) and I’ve done this a bajillion times that I could do it with my eyes closed. Remember this: You are worthy of being photographed, and you are going to be amazing – we’re going to do this together. Cool?
This is the F. U. N part! I’ll show you all of our Album options and Wall Art – this is when we start to envision how your photos will be displayed. We’ll then have a little chat on my grey couch. We’ll talk a bit about your homework (because of course you did it!), how the session will go, and if there are any last-minute things you want to share with me before we start.
We’ll then start your hair and make up. Most of our clients don’t usually wear makeup on the regular, and since my style is on the minimal side, that’s how we like to keep the make up and hairstyling.
It’ll then be time to get into your first outfit, turn up the music and we’ll start the shoot. You’ll be in each outfit for about 20-25 minutes, so we’ll have a running session time of about an hour and a half post-hair and makeup.
During the session, I’ll be guiding you from head to toe – girl, I am that specific. I’ll be getting into every post you do, but I also encourage you to make each pose your own. You’ll notice that while you may be stationary for a bit, I’m moving around you – a lot. This is my way of getting different angles, compositions, lighting, and a host of other things. It’s a fun day as we listen to your favorite music, chat, connect and rock it out. One thing I’m really hard about, is we we check and sh*t talk at the door. ALL OF IT. This is a time to love yourself, so please, let go of any negativity on the day. (I’m pretty hard about this!) Your body will be moving in ways that you aren’t used to, so it’s perfectly normal to feel a bit of soreness post-session. This is also why it’s super important to stretch a couple of weeks before the session. Trust me, your future self will thank you.
When our photo shoot is over, you’ll be on a high! I get it, I’ll be on one too! We’ll get your date confirmed for your Photo Reveal (about 2 weeks after the session) and I always send a little teaser within 48 hours of the shoot. I’m guaranteeing you’ll leave the Studio with your chin a little higher, and I hope you’ve planned for a night out (This is why Friday bookings are coveted!)

The Photo Reveal and Ordering Appointment
If you are in Barbados, you’ll come back to the Studio for this appointment about 2 weeks after your session. If not, have no fear, I do Zoom reveals all the time. If we are doing a zoom reveal, you’ll just want to recreate as much as possible the same quiet space that you’d have if you were here with me.
During the Photo Reveal, you’ll see about 50-60 photographs that I’ve put my (very light) touches on. The images you see in this appointment have my signature black and white toning on them. Any images that have been purchased for your Collection will go through a round of light retouching. (You can read all about my retouching policy HERE) This can be a really emotional time, as we never see this side of us. I’ve had screams of joy and seen tears of disbelief. I’ve got tissues, so please don’t hold back anything.
We’ll then decide on your final Collection, and create the Album together, and decide on Wall Art pieces if you’re digging seeing your amazing-self on your wall everyday. (Trust me, best confidence booster EVER). Our Albums are hand crafted Albums from a Professional Lab only available to, you guessed it, professional photographers. We love to work with our lab that prioritizes quality and client privacy above all else. (ps: you can’t get this with the everyday, open-to-the-public-photo processing labs).

Receiving your Products
Once you’ve made the decision on your final Collection and any upgrades and add-ons, your photos will be given a little extra love and attention before going to print, and the digital files and will be available on an online gallery within 24 hours of final purchase. Once the order is placed, products takes roughly 4-6 weeks to be delivered (the many joys of being on an island!). When your Album and Wall Art have arrived, we’ll run through our quality control, and let you know they’re ready for pick up. If you are not in Barbados, the delivery time for your products is 6-8 weeks. *shipping rates and duties will apply.
After you pick up your products, we give each other the BIGGEST, TIGHTEST hugs ever, because girl, you are AMAZING!
I’ll walk you to your car, and say “see you later”… It’s never a goodbye, it’s always,
Till next time..
